Volunteers
The need for volunteers is great. According to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, only 2.3 dentists in Lansing serve 41,893 needy individuals. This shortfall dramatically demonstrates Ingham County’s critical need for additional dentists to serve through the clinic to increase access to dental care for low-income individuals and families. This is where you can play a significant role.
How often must I volunteer? Dentists can volunteer for any amount of time, such as ½ or one full day a year, once every six months, ½ or one day a month, two days a month, or any combination that fits your schedule. Volunteer dentists sometimes bring their own assistants and make the experience an “Office Volunteer Day.” We simply encourage you to try it once and then make a decision on your future commitment. 5 Reasons to Volunteer
