John Brewster, DDS, Volunteer Dental Director

John Brewster D.D.S. earned a degree from the University of Michigan and spent 40 years in a private practice. Through Medical Teams International, Dr. Brewster has traveled abroad providing dental care to native villagers in the Amazon Basin of Ecuador and to children at seven orphanages in Cambodia. His volunteerism in these countries and four decades of private practice have prepared him to take on this volunteer role.

Paula Bates, Dental Clinic Coordinator

Paula Bates holds an associate’s degree in dental hygiene from Lansing Community College, an associate’s degree in business from Cornerstone University, and is nearing completion of a bachelor’s degree in health administration from Phoenix University. Ms. Bates brings 15 years of administrative business and medical office experience with her to the Dental Clinic.

Minerva Ortiz, Dental Assistant

Minerva Ortiz earned her certificate in Radiology from Lansing Community College and her dental assistant certificate from Ross Medical. She has CPR training and 18 years experience as a dental assistant.
